Jan. 12, 2400 block Guylf Drive, criminal mischief. The complainant said someone had broken the rear window of his vehicle.
Jan. 12, 1500 block Gulf Drive, no driver’s license. Officers stopped a speeding vehicle. A record check indicated the driver did not have a driver’s license and he was arrested.
Jan. 14, bayfront near city pier, criminal mischief. The complainant said that someone got onto his boat, moored off the city pier, and cut the line of his vessel. An anchor, chain and line were missing, all valued at $700.
Holmes Beach
Jan. 11, 308 1/2 Pine Ave., theft. The complainant said that she and her sister own a handyman business and an employee had taken tools after a dispute. After discussions between the employee and employers, the tools were returned and no charges filed.
Jan. 11, 4900 block Gulf Drive, trespass. The complainant said that a worker has been dropping transmission fluid on his driveway, and a trespass warning was issued to the worker.
Jan. 11, 5300 block Gulf Drive, domestic. The complainant came to the police department and said that his girlfriend had attacked him. His shirt was torn and a finger was bleeding. Domestic violence packages were issued to both parties.
Jan. 13, 300 block 29th Street, theft. The complainant said his laptop computer and Blackberry cell phone were taken from his home. He suspected an acquaintance had taken the items and, after investigation, officers determined that the suspect had only “borrowed” the items and gave them to police, who returned them to the owner, who decided not to press charges.
Jan. 13, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, trespass. Officers responded to a disturbance call and found two people who appeared to be intoxicated. One of the men became beligerant and, after several warnings, was arrested for trespass.
Jan. 13, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, battery. Officers responded to an argument at the beach where the suspect was observed by witnesses to have grabbed the victim by the throat. He was charged with battery and arrested.
Jan. 15, 2700 block Gulf Drive, burglary. The complainant said that his father was occupying a home after being evicted. Officers determined that someone had been living in the vacant house, and was issued a “be on the lookout” for the suspect, since he was not located at the home.
Jan. 14, 5800 block Imperiore Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took a car stereo and i-Pod from his son’s unlocked vehicle.
Jan. 14, 6200 block Flotilla Drive, theft. The complainant said someone took his bicycle while he was playing tennis.
Jan. 14, 100 block 52nd Street, lost property. The complainant said she lost her driver’s license.
Jan. 14, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, burglary. The complainant said that someone took his wallet from his unlocked van while it was parked at the beach. Cash and a credit card were reported missing. |
