Three young men bought a pellet gun and proceeded to shoot out windows of some 50 vehicles in a spree that took them from Sports Authority to McDonald’s to the Palma Sola Causeway, before they were arrested.

Bradenton Police arrested Jameson Tipping, 18, of Holmes Beach, Joseph Wood III, 17, of Bradenton, and Stephen Sherl, 17, of Tampa after the three youths shot 50 vehicles with a pellet gun, causing approximately $8,000 in damages.

According to the police report, two of the teens went Jan. 4 to the Sports Authority store in Bradenton, where they purchased a pellet gun.

They then met the third suspect at the McDonald’s restaurant at 3631 Cortez Road W., where they allegedly hatched a plan to shoot out windows of vehicles.

They shot out windows and damaged about 50 vehicles along the Palma Sola Causeway in the next few hours.

The three young men were arrested Jan. 24 and each was charged with felony criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. Tipping was further charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for supplying the pellet gun.
