Leona ‘Lee’ P. Callen
Leona “Lee” P. Callen, 91, of Anna Maria, died Jan. 23.
Born in Dixonville, Pa., Mrs. Callen moved to Anna Maria in 1978 from Kew Gardens, N.Y. She worked for the Sperry Gyroscope Co. during World War II.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 3355 26th St. W., Bradenton FL. Kicliter Funeral Home, Palmetto, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by husband of 57 years Edwin J.; sister Louise Laing of Bayshore, N.Y., son James J. and wife Cathy of Clarks Sumitt, Pa.; sister-in-law Louise Laing of Bayshore, N.Y.; grandchildren H. Lee and wife Pamela Diers; Jamie J. and wife Meghan, Michael C., Ryan E.; Kevin T., Daniel P., and Matthew L.; great-grandchildren Brian Diers, Sean Diers, Gus Diers and Joushua Diers, Brenna Rose; and great-great-grandchildren Lukas and Christopher Lee Diers.
Dr. Mary Gray Holderman Creamer
Dr. Mary Gray Holderman Creamer, 85, of Anna Maria, died Jan. 20.
Born in Lake Alfred, Fla., Dr. Creamer moved to Manatee County in 1999 from Lakeland. She was a retired anesthesiologist who practiced at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She attended St. Bernard Catholic Church, Holmes Beach, and was an active member of Anna Maria Island Rotary Club.
Memorial services were Jan. 25 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Anna Maria Island Rotary Club in care of Ed Misner, treasurer, P.O. Box 4335, Anna Maria FL 34216. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her companion Ned Perkins; sons Michael of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and James of Lakeland; daughters Mary Antonia of Lakeland, and Anne of San Jose, Calif.; and grandchildren Andrew Theodore and Elizabeth.
Heath James Grimes
Heath James Grimes, 32, of Gruver, Texas, died Jan. 5.
Born in Dumas, Texas, Mr. Grimes lived in Dalhart, Texas, until moving to Houston, then to the Texas Panhandle in the 1990s. He had a passion for cooking.
Memorial services were Jan. 8 in Dalhart.
He is survived by parents Johnny and Nell of Dalhart and Emily and Brent Thompson of Ellenton, who is an Anna Maria public works staff member; brothers Joseph of Cypress, Texas, Delaney and wife Kelly of Sugar Land, Texas, Daniel and wife Lesli of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Shelley and husband Chris Goodson of Dalhart, April and husband Shane Goodson of Gruver, Chris and husband Ronnie Phillips of Atlanta, Ga.; and Michael, Johnny, Walt, Dee Dee and Connie Bolton, Patty Garcia, Michelle Helm, Amy Thompson and Jerry Lynn. |
