Historic Bridge Street Pier opening Oct. 25/26

The city pier complex on Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach will have a pair of grand openings next week.

Rotten Ralph’s Waterfront Restaurant at the pier will start the festivities on Thursday, Oct. 25, with special food offerings. Ralph Russell, the late “rotten” guy would have been 80 years old that date.

The next day, Friday, Oct. 26, the city will host dignitaries to celebrate the creation of the complex at the east end of Bridge Street. The pier now contains a $2.2 million group of facilities which encompass the restaurant, the 650-foot pier, a fishing kiosk, harbor master office and rest rooms with showers. There is also a 210-foot-long floating dock to the south of the pier, and plans for a dinghy dock and a mooring field.
