Helen G. Intile
Helen G. Intile of Bradenton and formerly Anna Maria Island died Sept. 16.
Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Intile moved to Manatee County in 1970. She lived on the Island for 30 years before moving to Bradenton in 2002. She was a graduate of Coleman National Business College in Newark with a secretarial degree. She was an honorary life member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church Women's Guild, Holmes Beach, where she was an active parishioner.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the church, 248 S. Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach, with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota FL 34238.
She is survived by daughters Toni King and husband Herb of Bradenton, Jan Rice and husband Clay, Dottie Fiorentino and husband Sal of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Shirley Ann McConoughey
Shirley Ann McConoughey, 67, of Bradenton and formerly Holmes Beach, died Sept. 26.
Born in Mitchell, Iowa, Mrs. McConoughey was a professional floral designer. She was a graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Ill., in 1954. She moved to Holmes Beach in 1995 from Kensington, Md. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Holmes Beach.
A Memorial Mass was held at the church Oct. 2. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 600 U.S. 301 Blvd. W., Suite 136, Bradenton FL 34205, or to American Red Cross, Manatee County Chapter, 2905 59th St. W., Bradenton FL 34209. Brown and Sons Funeral Home 43rd Street Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by husband Kenneth; children Keith, Lane, Scott, Brenda and Douglas; and eight grandchildren.
Marian Hogan Powell
Marian Hogan Powell, 76, of Lakeland, died Sept. 11 in Bradenton.
Born in Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Powell came to Florida in 1950. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. She was a member of the Garden Club and the Junior Women's Club.
Visitation was Sept. 17 and services Sept. 18.
She is survived by husband Leonard; sons Tom of Tallahassee and Lenny of Orlando; and daughter Marilyn Kempink of Winter Park.
Maxine Fultz Prehler
Maxine Fultz Prehler, 91, of Bradenton, died June 15.
Born in Alliance, Ohio, Mrs. Prehler owned Kondu Corp. in Erie. She received a bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She was a member of Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul and PEO Sister Chapter Q.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 4408 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach. Jose 'Jumpin' Joe' Antonio Rivera
Jose "Jumpin' Joe" Antonio Rivera, 53, of Holmes Beach, died Sept. 21.
