Manatee County Clerk of Court "Chips" Shore, right, cut the ribbon at the Florida Maritime Museum in Cortez Friday night. Shore shepherded the restoration of the structure through myriad grants, gifts and county funding to the tune of more than $750,000. More than 200 people attended the Friday night event and toured the facility during the invitation-only event, which formally opened to the public Saturday.
