'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ...'
Something about this holiday light display and giant snow globe at Haley's Motel in Holmes Beach makes you want to sing Christmas carols. With more than 12,000 twinkling lights and the snow globe, complete with falling snow and snow characters, it's a Florida "Winter Wonderland." The Holmes Beach City Commission at its Dec. 13 meeting gave grudging consensus for Mayor Carol Whitmore to talk with Bradenton Beach officials about forming a combined committee of elected officials and private citizens to study the issue of Island consolidation.
