Man arrested for prowling

Huxley

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Alan Judy’s alert action in Anna Maria Dec. 18 resulted in the arrest of Frank Huxley, 20, of Bradenton, for loitering and prowling.

Judy, a deputy with the MCSO’s Anna Maria substation, was patrolling White Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when he saw Huxley near an abandoned house.

When Judy attempted to confront Huxley, he fled behind some nearby houses. The deputy was able to locate the suspect and commanded Huxley to stop, but the suspect again fled the scene.

Another deputy brought a K-9 to track the suspect and located him hiding underneath some shrubs at 508 White Ave. According to the MCSO report, Huxley was bitten on the right arm and buttocks by the K-9.

Huxley resisted efforts to be taken into custody and Judy used his stun gun to bring Huxley under control.

The suspect was taken to the Lakewood Ranch Hospital emergency room, where he was treated for minor injuries and released into MCSO custody.

Huxley faces charges of resisting arrest, loitering and prowling.
