Dec. 18, 700 block of Holly Road, information. A resident reported that someone made a derogatory comment toward him.
Dec. 20, 5100 block of Gulf Drive, assist other agency. Deputies responded to a request for backup from Holmes Beach Police Department in dealing with a domestic battery suspect.
Dec. 27, 10006 Gulf Drive, White Egret gift shop, criminal mischief. A window pane was reportedly cracked by an unknown object.
Bradenton Beach
Dec. 18, 2408 Gulf Drive N., Via Roma Resort, criminal mischief. An officer responded to the sound of a car alarm and reported finding the vehicle's car door ajar and a small side window broken. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and determined that none of her belongings were missing.
Dec. 19, 2201 Sunset Beach Motel, bad check. The motel owner reported receiving a worthless check from a motel guest.
Dec. 20, 701 Gulf Drive N., Green Turtle gift shop, theft. According to the report, a woman stole money from the cash register while the store employee was busy putting a vacuum cleaner away in the back of the store. The employee told police that she heard the cash register open, rushed to the front of the store and attempted to stop the woman from leaving, however the suspect managed to leave the scene in a vehicle with a driver waiting out front.
Dec. 21, 2601 Gulf Drive N., Sandpiper Mobile Home Park, criminal mischief. Three residents reported that the tires on their parked vehicles were slashed or punctured with a sharp object.
Dec. 21, 2408 Gulf Drive N., Via Roma Resort, criminal mischief. A man reported that a tire on his company vehicle was slashed.
Dec. 22, 2601 Gulf Drive N., Sandpiper Mobile Home Park, grand theft. A woman reported that her 1986 Plymouth Reliant was stolen from her residence while she was out of town.
Dec. 23, 2210 Gulf Drive N., Sand and Sea Resort, burglary. A woman reported that she awoke to find an unknown man inside her room. The suspect said he mistakenly entered the wrong room and fled, although the woman reported money missing from her purse.
Holmes Beach
Dec. 18, 5300 block of Gulf Drive, drug arrest. Shane Collier, 16, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a person under age 21 after being stopped for a traffic violation. Collier was issued two traffic tickets, one for driving through a red light and the other for violation of his driver's license restrictions. Another teenage passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for possession of an alcoholic beverage under the age of 21.
Dec. 18, 6200 block of Marina Drive, battery. Two men reported that three other men entered their home uninvited during a house party and began fighting with them.
Dec. 19, 6200 block of Marina Drive, criminal mischief. A man reported that the driver and passenger doors of his vehicle were damaged while he was parked at a home where a party was taking place.
Dec. 19, 800 block of Gulf Drive, probation. A woman was arrested on an outstanding Orange County warrant from 1987 for violation of a DUI probation.
Dec. 19, 5410 Marina Drive, D.Coy Ducks tavern, theft. A man reported that a woman at the bar showed interest in his ring and asked if she could have it. When he refused to give it to her, he told police that she physically removed the ring from his finger and left the bar.
Dec. 20, 5600 Marina Drive, drug arrest. A patrol officer approached a vehicle parked with two occupants sitting in the dark. Inside the vehicle, the officer reported finding an open container of alcohol and a clear bag containing 2.4 grams of marijuana. According to the report, Carlton Krauss, 19, of Holmes Beach, was arrested after admitting the alcohol and marijuana belonged to him.
Dec. 20, 5108 Gulf Drive, Driftwood Motel, domestic/drug. Jeffrey Kiser, 43, of Holmes Beach, was charged with possession of 1.2 grams of cocaine after officers found it in his pocket while placing him under arrest for domestic battery.
Dec. 21, 5801 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach Police Department, information. A woman stopped by the police department to report she forgot a package a Peach's Restaurant and that when she returned to retrieve it, the package was gone.
Dec. 22, 3901 Gulf Drive, Skinny's Restaurant, trespass. The owner reported that she found a man she had asked to leave the restaurant earlier was asleep in her brother's car. The man was issued a trespass warning.
Dec. 23, 5500 block of Gulf Drive, drug arrest. William Langston, 18, of Holmes Beach, was issued a notice to appear for possession of 0.1 gram of marijuana after being stopped for a routine traffic violation. According to the report, when the office stopped Langston for a non-working headlight, he saw a partially smoked cigarette on the center console that tested positive for marijuana.
Dec. 23, 3007 Gulf Drive, Anchor Inn, grand theft. A man reported his 1998 Ford truck stolen from the parking lot. According to the report, a spare key to the vehicle was in the console. The owner told police that he left his locked vehicle in the parking lot after asking a friend to drive him home from the bar. |
