Anna Maria
Nov. 30, 400 block of North Bay Boulevard, stolen tag. A driver was reportedly stopped for driving with a cracked windshield. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended license and the tag on the vehicle had been previously reported stolen.
Dec. 3, 10005 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria Sheriff's Substation office, information. A woman reportedly turned herself in to authorities for failure to pay child support.
Bradenton Beach
Nov. 30, 2300 block of Avenue B, grand theft. A resident reported his 1996 Ford Probe stolen from his driveway. According to the report, the resident claims he left the unlocked car in the driveway after washing it and noticed it missing the next morning.
Dec. 1, 2601 Gulf Drive N., Sandpiper Mobile Home Park, recovered stolen vehicle. While on patrol an officer spotted a 1996 Ford Probe parked on Second Street that had been reported stolen the previous day. According to the report, the ignition was not tampered with, but the registered tag was replaced.
Dec. 2, 2200 Gulf Drive N., Seaside Inn, burglary. Two women reported awakening to find a suspect in their room. According to the report, the suspect grabbed both women's purses and ran out the front door. According to the report, the suspect gained entry to the room using a key left in the lock outside the room.
Holmes Beach
Nov. 29, 6900 Gulf Drive, Bali Hai Resort, theft. A man reported his wallet missing from his room.
Nov. 29, 4700 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria Elementary School, vandalism. According to the report, someone pulled small signs off the school walls sometime during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Nov. 30, 3200 E. Bay Drive, Anna Maria Island Centre Shops, disorderly intoxication. A man was arrested for disorderly intoxication after causing a scene in the shopping center parking lot. According to the report, the man was unable to enter his own vehicle and, when officers offered to call a taxi, the man reportedly refused and insisted on being arrested.
Dec. 1, 46th Street beach access, drug arrest. Erik Eldridge, 19, of Bradenton, was arrested for possession of marijuana after a patrol officer observed him smoking a marijuana cigarette near the beach access. Eldridge was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia due to the rolling papers found in his wallet by officers.
Dec. 2, 100 73rd St., Coconut Beach Resort, burglary. A couple reported cash, liquor and a pair of sunglasses stolen from their unit.
Dec. 2, 4500 block of Gulf Drive, information. According to the report, officers followed up on information that a man police suspect to be living at the reported address is a sexual offender who had not yet registered with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Web site. Instructions were left for Danal Deboer to register with the sexual offender/predator unit or a warrant would be issued.
Dec. 5, 3700 block of East Bay Drive, DUI. Michael Huls, 50, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after failing a field sobriety test. |
