Island police blotter
March 18, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, grand theft. The complainant said someone stole jewelry from his wife’s jewelry box. The complainant said there was no sign of forced entry.
March 22, 1000 block of Gulf Drive North, criminal mischief. An officer responded to a man who found a drill bit in his tire at the Summer Sand condo’s parking garage. The officer reported that the drill bit was in the side of the tire, and so the act appeared to be intentional.
March 21, 300 block of 29th Street, burglary. An officer was dispatched to a residence. The dispatcher said the witness advised that a suspect left the residence with a 5-gallon bottle filled with cash. As the officer was driving toward the residence, he observed the suspect’s vehicle. While stopped, the driver and passenger switched places and the vehicle pulled away. The officer pulled the vehicle over and placed both suspects, Lacey Cycotte of Palmetto and Amanda Childress of Parrish, under arrest. The officer and a lieutenant saw the bucket and money in the vehicle.
