Man arrested for urinating, exposure

The Holmes Beach Police Department arrested a Mulberry, Fla., man for alleged indecent exposure in Publix, 3900 East Bay Drive.

The arrest took place Aug. 20 at the Manatee Public Beach.

An HBPD report stated that police were called at about 2:45 p.m. because a man was seen urinating on the floor next to a drinking fountain in the super market.

The report stated that the man was about 4-5 feet from the rest room, but did not attempt to use the facilities or hide himself from view as he urinated on the floor.

A witness — a store employee — said the man had a “smirk” on his face before he relieved himself.

The man, arrested for exposure of sexual organs in a public place, a misdemeanor, told HBPD he could not hold his urine.

Seen by an HBPD officer traveling west on Manatee Avenue from East Bay Drive, the man was stopped at the Manatee Public Beach. He also faces a charge of driving on a revoked license, another a misdemeanor.

He was taken to the Manatee County jail, where his bond was set at $620. He was released Aug. 21.
