New trolley now in service

Island trolley

The first of five new trolleys that Manatee County Area Transit will use on the fare-free Island route went into service Aug. 22, complete with advertising that will defray some of the operating costs. The second new trolley, also with ads, was slated to roll out Aug. 29, according to David Teitelbaum, who coordinates the advertising on the trolleys for the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce.
