AMITW to release rehabbed loggerhead

Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Shorebird Monitoring will release a rehabilitated sea turtle at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, in Bradenton Beach, at the Coquina Beach main lifeguard station.

According to AMITW executive director Suzi Fox, “Tyler,” a loggerhead turtle, was found in distress a few months ago and taken to Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota for recovery.

MOTE has determined the sea turtle is ready to “go back home to the sea.”
