The Rev. James W. ‘Tripp’ Battle III

      Rev. James W. “Tripp” Battle III, 31, of Bradenton, died Dec. 4.

The Rev. Battle was born Jan. 25, 1983, in Bradenton.

He was a graduate of Bayshore High School. He went on to attend and graduate from Baptist College of Florida. In 2009, the Rev. Battle was ordained as a minister. He served as a student pastor and associate pastor. In 2012, he was called by Bayshore Baptist Church to serve as senior pastor.

The family held a celebration of life Dec. 11 at First Baptist Church of Bradenton in Bradenton.

The Rev. Tripp is survived by his wife of seven years, Joy; children Sophie and Joshua of Bradenton; parents Jimmy Jr. and Rhonda of Bradenton; sister Ashley of Bradenton, maternal grandparents Ed and Alice Romine of Bradenton; aunts Beverly of Anna Maria and Cheryl and husband Mike Stuart of Parrish; parents-in-law the Rev. Keith and Rhonda Johnson of Miami; maternal grandparents-in-law Ron and Jackie King of Marion, Ohio; sisters-in-law Hope and David Bridwell of Crawfordville, Georgia and Faith Johnson of Pensacola; and many extended family members.

 

Arthur Hinkle

Arthur Hinkle, 88, of Holmes Beach, died Dec. 8.

He was veteran of World War II.

He was father to five children, grandfather to 10. He was a hard-working humble man who said his greatest achievement in life was marrying the love of his life, Donna, his wife of 65 years. He was 22 and she was 18 when they married in July 1948, after meeting in Jackson, Michigan.

They lived for a time in Brazil, where Mr. Hinkle worked with Clark Equipment, and then returned to the United States. They resided in Michigan and then moved to Holmes Beach more than two decades ago.
