Deena Jean Armstrongobit-armstrong

Deena Jean Armstrong, 61, of Palma Sola, died April 15. She was a long-time resident of Anna Maria Island.

She owned and operated Dinghy Deena’s Dinghys at the Anna Maria Yacht Basin and Marina in the 1980s and was a cook at Fast Eddie’s at the Anna Maria City Pier. She also was first mate for Capt. Tim O’Bryant of Let’s Go Fishin’ charters during the 1980s. She loved the ocean.

She also worked at the Holmes Beach post office during the 1970s.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Survivors include mother Betty Lou Armstrong, 91, of Palma Sola; sisters Gail Studeman of Washington state and Terrie Rodman of Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friends and companion Raun O’Bryant of Bradenton and Karl McClellan of Palma Sola.
