Anna Maria

March 3, Sunrise Garden Resort, 512 Spring Ave., trespass/theft. Vacationers who arrived at their accommodation found an unknown woman in their unit. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy warned the woman for trespassing and asked the state attorney to issue a theft charge for the $200 value of the rental.

March 3, 200 block of Iris Street, domestic disturbance. A deputy responded to a report of physical violence. Though the pair acknowledged an argument, upon further questioning, the complaining party said no violence occurred.

March 5, 200 block of Gladiolus Street, burglary. A man reported an unknown person broke into an upstairs unit and took $1,112 of power tools, including air compressors and a nail gun.

Bradenton Beach

March 9, Sports Bar, 118 Bridge St., disorderly conduct. Bradenton Beach police responded to a report of a drunken person. When officers arrived, the doorman asked that a 17-year-old trying to enter the bar be trespassed. As police attempted the warning, the teen refused to cooperate, showed signs of impairment and became belligerent, striking handcuffed hands against a window in the squad. An officer pepper-sprayed her and transported her to Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. The officer next attempted to book her at a juvenile facility, but because she threatened suicide, the facility refused to admit her. The officer invoked the Baker Act, took her into custody and transported her to a mental health facility.

Cortez

March 5, 12300 block of Cortez Road West, probation violation. A man was cited for violating a misdemeanor probation.

Cortez is policed by the MCSO.

Holmes Beach

March 11, 500 block of 71st Street, dog bite. A dog’s leash became entangled in a golf cart and, as the driver attempted to leave, the dog allegedly attacked him. Officers observed a bite on the man’s leg and advised the owners of the dog that Manatee County Animal Services would be notified.

March 12, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, criminal mischief. Two men argued over a parking space at the Manatee Public Beach. When the man who parked in the spot returned several hours later, there were scratches on both sides of his car. The victim identified the suspect and provided two videos to police, a cellphone video of the threats made by the man and a security camera video showing the suspect scratching the car.

March 12, Publix Super Market, 3900 E. Bay Drive, trespass. A man observed attempting to steal meat fled the store. He was found at a nearby store. The Publix manager advised the man he could no longer enter Publix. A trespass warning was issued and the man left the area.

March 14, 2800 block of Gulf Drive, noise ordinance. Just after 1 a.m., a neighbor complained of loud music and voices. Officers responded, heard the noise from the street and issued the property owner a noise violation. The noisemaker apologized and the noise ceased.
