Sept. 11, City Pier Restaurant, Anna Maria City Pier, 100 N. Bay Blvd., criminal damage. Manatee County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a smashed window. No missing items were reported.

Holmes Beach

Sept. 3, 200 block of Haverkos Court, marijuana possession. A Holmes Beach officer arrested a motorist with 6.5 grams of marijuana in his vehicle. The officer stopped the Riverview man driving a blue Ford SUV after determining the vehicle owner had a suspended driver’s license. Noticing a strong odor of burnt marijuana, the officer searched it, found the cannabis and arrested the man.

Sept. 4, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, disturbance. Two groups of women with children argued over who could play at an area of the shoreline where a hole had been dug. The women were yelling racial slurs and threatening to make the fight physical in front of the children. The disturbance continued into the parking lot, where one of the women stood behind the other’s vehicle as it was leaving and kicked the auto. Police ran the driver’s license of the vehicle being driven by the woman who left, determined it was suspended and issued a request for her arrest with the state attorney.

Sept. 8, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, warrant. Responding to a noise complaint, an officer arrested a man on the swing set listening to his truck stereo for an outstanding warrant from Minnesota.
