Feb. 18, 100 Spring Ave., parking lot, hit and run. A woman reportedly backed into a parked car and drove home, despite attempts by a witness to get her attention. The witness provided a deputy with the auto tag number and the woman was contacted at her home regarding the accident.
Feb. 21, 100 block of South Bay Boulevard, driver's license. A man was arrested for driving without a license and cited for lacking proof of insurance and having faulty equipment on his vehicle.
Feb. 21, 307 Pine Ave., Pine Avenue Store, theft. A man reported the bicycle he left outside his business was stolen.
Feb. 23, 200 block of Gladiolus Street, littering. A man reported his neighbor for allegedly dumping yard debris in the canal behind the suspect's home. According to the report, at high tide the debris floats into the canal. The man also reported his concern regarding an electrical wire placed in a boat left tied to his neighbor's tree, because the wire hangs into the water during high tide. After visiting the property, the deputy filed a capias request against the resident.
Bradenton Beach
Feb. 13, 200 block of Gulf Drive North, drug arrest. Mary Vermiss, 26, of Bradenton Beach, was stopped when an officer saw her vehicle swerving along the road and noticed the driver's side of the windshield was smashed. A K-9 unit arrived as backup and, according to the report, the dog signaled narcotics were present. According to the report, several different types of pills, including methadone and Xanax were found in her possession and she apparently lacked a valid prescription.
Feb. 20 1301 Gulf Drive N., Silver Surf Resort, burglary. A man reported that the canvas roof of his convertible rental car was sliced open and a jacket was stolen from the front seat.
Holmes Beach
Feb. 17, 200 block of 52nd Street, theft. Exterior light fixtures were reportedly removed from several units of a construction site.
Feb. 17, 600 block of Baronet Lane, trespass warning. A woman requested an officer stand by as she removed her belongings from a residence. The remaining occupant requested a trespass warning be issued after the move was completed.
Feb. 18, 6200 block of Holmes Boulevard, battery. A woman reported that her boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and pushed her. According to the report, the boyfriend admitted to the incident and was arrested.
Feb. 19, 3900 E. Bay Drive, Publix, suspicious incident. Two teenage girls reportedly purchased White-Out, an office product, from the store and dumped the contents on a vehicle belonging to a teen employed at the store. The liquid apparently caused no damage to the vehicle.
Feb. 20, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, burglary. A woman reported her purse was stolen from the trunk of her car and that one of her bank cards had been used for purchases.
Feb. 21, 100 block of 75th Street, theft. A woman reported her grandson's bike was stolen from her garage.
Feb. 21, 7300 Gulf Drive, Coconuts, theft. A man reported that he found a man rummaging through his car and when confronted the suspect said that he thought it was his grandmother's car and was looking for his hat, and then he left. Later, the man realized his sunglasses and some cash had been stolen from the car.
Feb. 21, 4100 block of Gulf Drive, driver's license. A woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
Feb. 22, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, warrant. A man was arrested on two warrants, one from Volusia County and one from Brevard County, both for a suspended driver's license. |
