Correct daily spending average to $80

The story in the March 4 issue about the Research Data Survey on tourism done for the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau contained an error on average visitor spending.

The story should have noted that, according to RDS figures for the reporting period, the average visitor budget for spending per day during a vacation in the area, including lodging, meals, admission to attractions, retail purchases, and transportation, was $80.30, not $915.

Of the $80.30, approximately 40 percent was spent on accommodations.

According to RDS figures, $915 was the average economic impact in the Bradenton area of spending per visitor per vacation. and RDS reported the average length of stay at 9.4 days.
