March 12, 10005 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria Island Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Substation, found property. A person turned in a cell phone found on the Island.
Bradenton Beach
March 10, 500 block of Gulf Drive South, resisting arrest. A caller to 911 insisted a neighbor was “in critical condition” and “in danger of dying.” According to the report, when the officer arrived at the scene, the man allegedly in need of assistance appeared to be sleeping. When the officer attempted to speak with the man, the woman who had called kept interrupting and was asked to leave the room. She refused, became belligerent and eventually pushed the officer, and she was arrested for obstruction. According to the report, the man in question told police he was sleeping, that he has no medical condition and has no idea why the woman called police.
March 10, 119 Bridge St., Two Sides of Nature, theft. A clerk reported her purse was stolen from behind the counter.
March 11, 200 Gulf Drive N., BeachHouse Restaurant, theft. The restaurant manager reported a server had been allowed to go home early due to illness, but failed to make her “server drop” before leaving. The manager had been unable to reach the server by phone to retrieve the money owed the restaurant.
March 13, 100 block of Seventh Street South, grand theft. A woman reported that her 1994 red Chevrolet Geo Tracker parked in front of her residence was stolen. According to the report, the keys were left under the front seat and the doors had been left unlocked.
March 13, 2600 block of Gulf Drive North, DUI. Amy Murray, 41, of Holmes Beach, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol when an officer responded to a car accident involving Murray. According to the report, she was driving when she hit the rear end of another vehicle, causing damage to both.
March 13, 1800 Gulf Drive S., Leffis Key, Coquina Beach, burglary. Two wallets were stolen from a vehicle.
Holmes Beach
March 10, 3000 block of Avenue F, theft. Two sets of golf clubs left in the back of a vehicle overnight were reportedly stolen.
March 10, 5324 Gulf Drive, First National Bank, fraud. A woman reported that review of her bank statement revealed 10 unauthorized charges to her bank debit/credit card. The woman told police she had not lost her card recently, and that it has remained in her possession and she does not know how someone else was able to access her account through the ATM and make purchases.
March 11, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, license. An officer stopped a vehicle that ran a red light. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license and charged with obstruction for giving a false name.
March 11, 200 block of 68th Street, battery. A couple came to the station to report an incidence of road rage. According to the couple, the driver of an SUV approached their stopped vehicle and threatened them with a small baseball bat for cutting him off in traffic. According to the report, a passenger in the SUV allegedly struck the complainant, the driver, on the forehead with an open hand.
March 12, 3007 Gulf Drive, Anchor Inn, disorderly intoxication. According to the report, an intoxicated male refused to leave and was causing a disturbance. The man was arrested.
March 12, 700 block of Key Royale Drive, burglary. An officer was contacted by Longboat Key police regarding a juvenile runaway believed to be hiding out in the city. The female juvenile was found at a home under construction. One of two males on the premises attempted to escape through the back door, but the officer in pursuit caught him. He was found hiding under the deck of a nearby home and was arrested. He and the other male in the residence with the juvenile were charged with burglary of a structure. |
