Homeless man arrested in Bradenton Beach

Bradenton Beach Police arrested James Bryan Bawcum, 50, a homeless man, on April 16 after he was found inside a vacant residence.

According to the arrest report, at about 11 p.m., BBPD got a call regarding an allegedly drunk person seen walking through a gate to a home for sale in the 2400 block of Avenue C.

BBPD Officers John Tsakiri and Jason Higgins responded and observed a person hiding inside. The man was ordered to come out, and then handcuffed and arrested. Bawcum became belligerent and told officers he would “look for them when they are off-duty."

He was charged with burglary to a dwelling. Officers also found three outstanding warrants for Bawcum for contempt of court.

He was taken to jail.
