Cortez bridge closure

Motorists who use the humpback bridge on 127th Street in Cortez found it closed April 7 and it will remain so for 90 to 120 days to allow contractors to renovate the bridge and raise its height an additional 2.5 feet.

Persons who normally utilize this street to access homes and businesses are advised to use 119th Street as a detour. While the bridge is closed boaters will be unable to use this canal to reach properties such as the Holiday R.V. Park.

The project is being funded by the Bradenton Boat Club on Cortez Road with the approval of the Florida Department of Transportation and the Manatee County Public Works Department.
