A Bradenton Beach woman was arrested in Sarasota June 12 on charges of possession of crack cocaine.

Rebecca McGrath, 35, of the 2200 block of Avenue B, was approached by Sarasota Police officers and admitted her driver’s license was suspended, according to the report. A computer check indicated that her license was indeed suspended, and also revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for driving with an open container.

As officers searched her car, they found crack cocaine on the floorboard by the driver’s seat. McGrath told officers, “Dang, I must have forgot it was there, otherwise I’d had smoked it,” according to the report.

A further search of her vehicle, a 2000 Kia Sportage, produced drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to Sarasota Jail.
