Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two men wanted on Kentucky warrants for alleged crimes involving two girls.

The men were arrested June 17 in Holmes Beach, booked into the Manatee County jail and, by order of a judge, extradited to Elizabethtown, Ky., June 18.

Benjamin W. Best, 23, was wanted on a warrant out of Hardin County, Ky., for an alleged unlawful transaction with a minor. Best allegedly smoked marijuana with a 16-year-old.

Michael L. Bruce II, 28, was wanted on a warrant from Kentucky and faces three felony charges - deviate sexual intercourse in the third degree, rape in the third degree and unlawful transaction with a minor.

The warrant for Bruce alleges that he had engaged in sexual intercourse and other acts with “another person incapable of consent” because of her age - 15 years old.

The men were taken into custody from an apartment in the 300 block of 62nd Street in Holmes Beach. Bruce, at the time of his arrest, said he was working for an auto dealer in Bradenton.

Warrants for the men were issued in May.
