Privateers to honor students July 4

The Anna Maria Island Privateers will award $27,000 in scholarships to local students on July 4 at a party that is expected to begin shortly after the July 4 parade concludes at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The program at the party, which follows the Privateers ship from the parade to a public gathering at Cafe on the Beach at the Manatee Public Beach, including scholars honored prominently in the procession, for the awarding of the scholarships.

Scholarships will be presented to: Austin Easton, Kimberly Kuizon, Elise Mundy, Claire Ingram, Ashley Bishop, Chris Chawi, Nicholas Gotts, Angela Jackson, Dion Shorey, Eric Whitley, Ashley Stinton, Elizabeth Aguilar, Josie Cockerham, Charlie Green, Lupita Perales, Ashley Petersen, Kelsey Taylor, April White and Sean Price.
