July 26, Pine Avenue and Gulf Drive, driving with suspended license. After being stopped for speeding, the male suspect was observed trying to switch seats with a passenger, according to the report. Driver’s license checks revealed his license had been revoked for two years.
July 22, Gulf Drive and Cortez Road, DUI crash. Steven A. Nix, 41, of Bradenton, was driving eastbound through the intersection when his vehicle swerved into a car waiting at the light, then struck another vehicle, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests and breath-alcohol tests and was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
July 22, 2900 block Gulf Drive, battery. Officers responded to a call of a disturbance between a man and his live-in girlfriend. According to the report, he said that she struck him in the face, then bit his finger. Paramedics were called and treated him. She was determined to be intoxicated, according to the report, and was arrested and taken to jail on battery charges.
July 23, 6500 Flotilla, theft. The complainant said someone took his bike from his carport.
July 23, 100 block 81st Street, theft. The complainant said that someone took lumber from an under-construction house. Total value of the missing lumber was $420.
July 25, 5800 Marina Drive, warrants. During a traffic stop, the officer determined the driver had two outstanding warrants and was arrested and taken to jail.
July 25, 100 block 49th Street, theft. The complainant said someone took his bicycle from his carport overnight.
July 25, 28th Street Beach access, criminal mischief. Officers noted that someone had sprayed graffiti on a bench at the beach.
July 25, 7100 block Palm Drive, theft. The complainant said she loaned her bicycle to a roommate’s friend, who she believed returned it to her back-yard shed, where it was later taken.
