Tidemark 'new beginning' as docks near completion

Six years ago this month, the Holmes Beach City Commission approved the site plan for the Tidemark hotel/condominium/marina.

It’s been six years coming and with a new ownership group, things are starting to happen at the resort, said co-owner Lance McNeil of the Tidemark Reliance Property Group.

The planned 40-unit Tidemark Resort hotel/marina/condominium has already partnered up with the Beach Inn on the Gulf of Mexico in Holmes Beach as part of Tidemark Resorts.

At the marina, one section of the boat slips along Marina Drive is nearing completion, said McNeil, and vertical construction has begun at the Beach Inn portion of the Tidemark Resorts.

When pre-sale activity of units at the Tidemark by the Holmes Beach boat basin reaches a certain level, McNeil said vertical construction would begin there also.

Sales got off to a slow start, but there’s been a recent increase in activity. McNeil is hopeful that in about 60 days, the Tidemark will be following the Beach Inn and he can announce the start of construction.

McNeil said he already has Capt. Justin Moore and five other fishing guides lined up to rent dock space at the marina, and there’s a “good chance” that when all the slips are completed, some will be available to the general public.

“Until we need the marina for owners, I’m sure we’ll rent many slips to the public,” he said.

Even when the marina is complete and the lodge begins accepting guests, some slips will be available for public use, in addition to space for police and fire/rescue boats.

One feature of the marina will be a Tidemark boat club. McNeil plans on having at least 20 “bay boats” available for unit owners and guests of the resort.

The Tidemark hotel/marina/condominium is also approved for dining facilities and a banquet room.

Units are being offered to buyers under “fractional ownership.”
