Chiles, Nallys unite to save bee colony By Rick Catlin, Islander Reporter
Although they’re on opposite sides of the fence on several legal issues, Sandbar Restaurant owner Ed Chiles and William and Barbara Nally of Spring Avenue in Anna Maria have united to save a bee colony that has taken nest high up in an Australian pine along Spring Avenue in front of the Nally residence.

Lannon to be remembered By Rick Catlin. Islander Reporter
Holmes Beach Police Officer Pete Lannon will not soon be forgotten. He was given a grand sendoff by family, the city, the community and children and adults associated with the Anna Maria Elementary School when he died June 1, but now he will receive honors from the city and the school.

Bradenton Beach Police arrested Robert Molter, 27, of Myakka City, after Molter allegedly stole numerous items from a Ford pickup truck that had been parked at 100 Bridge Street on Sept. 2 and then set the pickup on fire.
