Diners who anxiously awaited the renovation of the Bridge Street Pier in Bradenton Beach await lunch during a trial run at Rotten Ralph's on the Pier. Seated are, from left to right, Carl Parks, Bradenton Beach Commissioners Janie Robertson and Michael Pierce, Pat Gentry, former Bradenton Beach Mayor Connie Drescher and City Commissioner Bill Shearon. For more information about the Bradenton Beach restaurant, 200 Bridge Street, call 941-778-1604.
Doreen Russell, also sometimes referred to as "Mrs. Ralph" and the widow of the restaurant's founder, stands on the deck of the new Rotten Ralph's on the Pier in Bradenton Beach. The Anna Maria location, 902 S. Bay Blvd., also will continue to operate, according to restaurant owner Dave Russell.

The kitchen crew at Rotten Ralph’s on the Pier readies for a grand opening at the new Bradenton Beach restaurant on the renovated Bridge Street Pier. A crowd of friends and family gathered for a trial run at the restaurant Sept. 25. The menu at Rotten Ralph’s on the Pier is similar to the daddy restaurant in Anna Maria, but also features breakfast. Hours, said owner Dave Russell, will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Islander Photos: Lisa Neff
