Dec. 9, 600 block of Concord Lane, intelligence. The officer was contacted by a citizen on Key Royale who said that a man at a nearby residence had been going out in his boat late at night and returning early in the morning. The citizen noticed this happening a few times a week since the man moved there. The citizen said the man leaves his canal without using boats lights.
Dec. 12, 3300 Gulf Drive, theft. The officer was dispatched to the Manatee Public Beach to meet with a lifeguard and some victims of theft. The victim said that he and a friend had been taking scuba lessons at the 33rd Street beach access and the victim left his beach bag at the beach. When they returned 45 minutes later, the bag was gone. The victim said the bag contained two sets of keys.
Dec. 13, 4103 Gulf Drive, burglary of a residence, criminal mischief. Officer responded to victim in reference to criminal mischief. The victim said that someone entered his garage and damaged his 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a new custom paint job will cost more than $1,500.
Dec. 16, 607 Dundee Lane, burglary of a residence. Officer was dispatched to the residence and met with the complainant, who told the officer that someone had broken into his house and stolen a prescription bottle of oxycodone, a digital camera and a laptop computer. The complainant had gone to the beach at 66th Street with a woman, who he said was continuously texting someone on her phone, and then said she needed to leave to help a friend whose car had broken down. She took the complainant home and left. Two hours later, the complainant noticed items missing from his home. The complainant said he met the woman Nov. 30 while they were both in jail, and that she may have been in jail for burglary.
Dec. 18, 5330 Gulf Drive, burglary of a business. Officer responded to a burglary alarm at Mister Roberts Resortwear. No suspects were inside the business, and 25 $1 bills were strewn on the floor below the cash register. The owner arrived and accounted for the amount of cash in the register. It appeared only cash was taken.
