Island police reports

Streetlife is based on incident reports from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach police departments.

Bradenton Beach

Sept. 5, 11 p.m., 2100 block of Ave. B, fire. The BBPD responded to a fire in a barrel. The homeowner said someone with whom he had issues started the fire. Firefighters were investigating.

Sept. 5, Beach House Restaurant, 200 Gulf Drive N., disorderly intoxication. A man accused valet staff of stealing his vehicle after they moved it from a valet lane. The man appeared intoxicated and became aggressive toward police. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence.

Sept. 6, Bridge Street, disorderly intoxication. An intoxicated man who said his boat was stolen became aggressive and lunged toward police. The man was treated at HCA Florida Blake Hospital for a dislocated shoulder before being taken to the county jail.

Holmes Beach

Sept. 3, Playa Encantada, 6005 Gulf Drive, theft. A complainant told the HBPD that a bicycle went missing from a storage unit while he was out of state.

Sept. 5, 43rd Street and Gulf Drive, marijuana/open container. An officer made a traffic stop and found open alcohol cans inside the vehicle, which smelled of marijuana. A search turned up a bag containing less than 20 grams of marijuana. The officer issued citations and court summons.

Sept. 6, 3700 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A complainant said two rented electric bikes were stolen. The officer provided a case number to the complainant.
