Bradenton Beach Police arrested Chad Alexander Foster, 18, of Riverview, at about 6:30 a.m. May 3, after investigating a report of someone firing a weapon from the balcony at 1955 Gulf Drive N.
Holmes Beach Police Department officers assisted Bradenton at the residence, where about 30 people had gathered.
Upon entering the residence, Holmes Beach Police Officer Joel Pierce reported he saw Foster reach for a Sig Sauer .40-caliber handgun. Pierce said he could see the butt of the weapon sticking out from under a blanket.
A witness identified Foster as the man he saw standing on the top-floor balcony with a gun in his hand and that Foster had pointed the gun south and discharged it toward Gulf Drive.
Foster told police, according to the report, that he had been “partying all night,” drinking vodka and spiced rum. Police noted an odor of alcohol on Foster’s breath and that he was unsteady on his feet.
Foster faces charges of discharging a firearm in public, possession of a firearm with altered/removed serial numbers, using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, carrying an unconcealed firearm and possession of marijuana.
He since bonded out of the Manatee County jail by posting a bail bond of $2,370.
