Bradenton Beach Police arrested Chad Alexander Foster, 18, of Riverview, Fla., at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, May 3, after investigating a report of someone firing a weapon off the balcony at 1955 Gulf Drive N.
Bradenton Beach police were assisted by Holmes Beach Police at the residence, where approximately 30 people were found to be inside.
Upon entering the residence, Holmes Beach Officer Joel Pierce reported he saw Foster reach for a Sig Sauer .40-caliber handgun. Pierce said he could see the butt of the weapon sticking out from under a blanket.
A witness identified Foster as the man he saw standing on the top-floor balcony with a gun in his hand and that Foster had pointed the gun southward and discharged it toward Gulf Drive.
Foster told police, according to the report, that he had been "partying all night" and drinking vodka and spiced rum. Police nothed a strong odor of alcohol on Foster’s breath and that he was unsteady on his feet.
Foster was charged with discharging a firearm in public, possession of a firearm with altered/removed serial numbers, using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, carrying an unconcealed firearm and possession of marijuana.
He since bonded out of the Manatee County jail by posting a bail bond of $2,370.
