June 30, 10002 Gulf Drive, Bortell’s Bar, battery. Deputies were called to deal with a disorderly group at the establishment. After the group was quieted, deputies were accosted and a woman arrested.
July 5, 300 block Gulf Boulevard, theft. Handicapped parking signs were removed and later recovered in the area.
July 5, 100 block Hammock Road, disturbance. The reporting party said she got into a verbal argument with the property owner. She is the owner’s son’s girlfriend, according to the report, and her boyfriend is currently in jail. After checking records, it was determined she had outstanding warrants and she was arrested.
Bradenton Beach
July 3, 2513 Gulf Drive, Circle K, battery on law enforcement officer. Officers were called by store employees regarding a juvenile skateboarding at the establishment. The youth was escorted off the property, only to be seen back at the store later in the evening. As officers approached the youth, he hit an officer with the skateboard and was arrested. Shortly thereafter, the youth’s mother approached officers and, after exchanging words, attempted to free her son from the back seat of the patrol car. After a brief struggle, which involved her being pepper-sprayed, she too was arrested.
July 4, 500 block Gulf Drive North, disturbance. The complainant said he was walking his dog when another man hit him on the head. The complainant said there has been an ongoing civil dispute between the two. The other man later said the complainant had threatened him and struck him on the head. Officers advised both to contact the state attorney’s office regarding the filing of injunctions.
Holmes Beach
June 29, 3400 block Sixth Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took his wife’s bicycle from the back of a friend’s pickup truck.
June 30, 600 block Foxworth Drive, burglary. The complainant said that someone entered the residence, which was under renovation, and removed tools valued at approximately $1,200.
June 30, 5800 Gulf Drive, criminal mischief. The complainant said someone had vandalized newspaper racks at the address, pulling posts out of the ground and writing graffiti on the boxes.
July 2, 3000 block Avenue F, burglary. The complainant said someone took a video camera from the back of her vehicle.
July 2, 3200 block East Bay Drive, Island Bazaar, criminal mischief. Officers responded to a call of graffiti, which did not appear to be gang related, and code enforcement officers were contacted to get in touch with the owners to have it removed.
July 2, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, theft. The complainant said someone had broken into the soda vending machine overnight, taking some money and beverages.
July 3, 6504 Gulf Drive, White Sands, criminal mischief. The complainant said someone threw patio tables and chairs into the pool, and decorative parrots had been taken from the front of the building.
July 4, 3200 block Sixth Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took his bicycle from his driveway overnight.
July 4, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, criminal mischief. The complainant, an employee with Manatee County Parks Department, said a large palm tree had been chopped down, possibly by juveniles observed in the area overnight.
July 5, 6200 block Flotilla Drive, theft. The complainant said that someone took his golf clubs, valued at $1,000, from his covered parking area overnight. |
