No new entries in Holmes Beach election
The first week of qualifying for the Nov. 6 election passed with no
new entries in the race for Holmes Beach city commission.
three incumbents - Pat Geyer,
Pat Morton and David Zaccagnino - declared in late August their intent
to seek re-election for the three two-year terms.
the owner of Duffy’s Tavern
and a former mayor and commissioner, was appointed to the commission last November
to serve out the remainder of Rich Bohnenberger’s term. Bohnenberger was
elected mayor last year.
works for Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor, is seeking a second term on
the city commission.
the campus manager for Crosspointe Fellowship in Holmes Beach, is running for
a third term.
qualify as a candidate, a person can pay a fee that is 4 percent of the one-year
salary for the office sought or collect signatures of 1 percent of the registered
voters in the last general election for the office sought.
Those seeking office
must also file a candidate oath, a loyalty oath and a financial disclosure statement.
