Aug. 25, 200 block Palmetto Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took numerous items from an unlocked shed on his property.
Aug. 29., 400 block Magnolia Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took his payroll check from his work vehicle, then cashed it in Bradenton. The complainant said that the signature on the check matched that of a co-worker, according to the report, and surveillance video at the check-cashing store matched the co-worker and, upon questioning, the suspect admitted he had forged the check and cashed it. He was arrested.
Aug. 29, 100 block Magnolia Avenue, theft. The complainant said someone took numerous items from his property.
Bradenton Beach
Aug. 22, 111 Seventh St. N., Jesses Bar, attempted burglary. The owner reported someone had tried to break into the back door of the business with a claw hammer, which was found on the ground near the door.
Aug. 26, 1600 Gulf Drive S., traffic. Officers observed a car traveling south at approximately 80 mph on Gulf Drive by Coquina Beach. Officers pursued, and clocked the vehicle at 92 mph as it crossed the Longboat Bridge. The female driver attempted to elude officers, but was eventually apprehended. She was verbally abusive to officers and jailed.
Aug. 28, 201 Gulf Drive N., Oma’s Pizza, burglary. Someone pried open the rear door of the business and took approximately $100 in cash from the register, then broke into the office and took about $500 in cash and change.
Holmes Beach
Aug. 23, 3248 E. Bay Drive, Walgreens, theft. The complainant said that a box of prescription drugs was short a 100-count bottle of Oxycodon after it was delivered. The box was damaged upon delivery, and the delivery company was suspected, according to the complainant, because several other prescription drug thefts had been noted by other stores in the area.
Aug. 24, 200 block North Harbor Drive, theft. The complainant said her bicycle was missing from within the fence of her home.
Aug. 25, 5317 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach Fitness, battery. A patron of the fitness center said he went into the establishment to work out, only to be told that the business had been sold and his membership was no longer valid. After some discussion, the patron was physically removed from the center by an employee, who was subsequently charged with battery.
Aug. 27, 7700 block Gulf Drive, theft. The complainant said someone took her beach bag from the beach. The bag contained a watch, keys, a book and towel, all with a value of $250.
Aug. 28, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, theft. The complainant said someone took her beach bag from a picnic table at the beach. The bag contained credit cards, a driver’s license and $100.
Aug. 30, 5600 block Gulf Drive, DUI, traffic. Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a sign, which was destroyed. Witnesses said the vehicle that hit the sign was a light-colored pickup truck, which suffered extensive front-end damage. Other officers observed a truck matching the description parking behind a bar and followed the suspect inside where, upon seeing officers, the suspect tried to leave the establishment. He was caught and, after observation, Marshall J. Fisher, 20, of Anna Maria, was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage of more than $50.
Aug. 30, 3500 block Gulf Drive, theft. The complainant said someone took her bicycle from her property. |
