A Zephyrhills woman was arrested June 29 after a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy allegedly found cocaine and Dilaudid in her car.
Amandia Hester Sharbono, 31, faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of Dilaudid and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the MCSO report, someone called 911 after observing a woman driving erratically around 8:30 p.m. on North Bay Boulevard in Anna Maria.
A deputy responded and began following Sharbono in her vehicle, which was traveling slower than the posted 25-mph limit and holding up traffic, according to the report.
When Sharbono reached the 100 block of Tern Drive, a cul-de-sac surrounded by homes, she parked on the street, which is prohibited in the city of Anna Maria.
The officer asked to see Sharbono’s license, but she reportedly did not have it with her. Instead she presented a Florida identification card.
The deputy reported that he observed Sharbono’s pupils were dilated.
While she denied drinking, she said she had taken Dilaudid. She also said she had a doctor prescription for the medication. However, no such prescription or prescription bottle was in her possession.
When the deputy searched Sharbono’s car, he allegedly found a small plastic bag containing cocaine, an egg-like container with white residue and a straw and three white pills. The deputy also found one Dilaudid pill in Sharbono’s purse.
Sharbono was taken to the Manatee County jail and held on a $2,000 bond. Her arraignment will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, July 25, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
