Jan. 17, 100 block of Spring Avenue. Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was called for a disturbance and found two intoxicated persons. They were escorted to their motel.
Jan. 18, 300 N. Bay Blvd., Baker Act. A deputy was dispatched to Bayfront Park following a call about a man having a mental health issue. The deputy transported the man to a health facility.
Jan. 19, 100 block of Maple Avenue, found property. A person turned in ammunition for disposal.
Jan. 22, 100 block of Maple Avenue, theft. An unknown person took a victim’s front wheel and tire from a bicycle that was locked to a wooden fence. Fingerprints were taken at the scene.
Jan. 22, 300 block of Pine Avenue, lost property. A garbage can was reported lost.
Jan. 23, 419 Pine Ave., Anna Maria Island Vacation Rentals, theft. An unlocked bicycle was reported stolen from behind the office.

Bradenton Beach
Jan. 24, 100 block of Bridge Street, disorderly conduct. Police were assisting emergency medical services when an officer observed a man yelling and acting erratically. As the man was preparing to spit on the officer, the officer sprayed him with pepper spray. He was arrested and booked at the Manatee County jail.

Cortez
Jan. 21, 4110 127th St. W., Seafood Shack, theft. A laptop computer was stolen from the Seafood Shack between 5 p.m. Jan. 20 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 21.
Jan. 24, 4110 127th St. W., Seafood Shack, information. Employees found a man who had passed out in the men’s bathroom. EMS determined the man had overdosed on opiates. He was transported to Blake Medical Center. He told police he had taken unknown pills because life was stressing him out.

Holmes Beach
Jan. 19, 5351 Gulf Drive, Niki’s Island Treasures, theft. The owner reported that an unknown shoplifter had stolen antique jewelry between Jan. 10 and Jan. 17. The items were valued at $800.
Jan. 20, 5800 block of Marina Drive, license. Police stopped a motorist after determining the vehicle owner’s license had been suspended for road racing. The man told police he was unaware of the suspension, and police issued him a summons to appear in court for the license violation. The officer was also issued the motorist citations for no proof of insurance or registration.
Jan. 23, 6500 block of Marina Drive, license. Police stopped a driver of a Nissan Versa because the officer determined the tag on the vehicle was issued to another vehicle and for a suspended driver’s license. The motorist did not have his registration. He was issued a summons for the license violation and ticketed for registration.
Jan. 23, 600 block of Foxworth Lane, fraud. A woman reported that on or about the second week of December, she gave a contractor $400 in cash to install sod in her yard. She claimed the contractor had not done the work and now he is not answering phone calls.
Jan. 20, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, juvenile. An underage drinker was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and two other juveniles were arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia after police observed a vehicle swerving into the bike lane. After stopping the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol and burning cannabis. The driver provided two breath samples that measured 0.305 and 0.298. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.02 for persons under 21.
