A no-contest plea deal ended the prosecution of a Palmetto woman arrested in Holmes Beach after a traffic stop.
Kiri Lynn Napier, 26, was sentenced to 18 months of probation March 3 after pleading no contest in the 12th Judicial Circuit Court to a reduced charge of driving without a valid license.
Also part of the deal, she pleaded no contest to a felony count of possessing xanax and a misdemeanor count of possessing marijuana. Adjudication was withheld. The state dropped a count alleging possession of hydrocodone.
Napier was stopped by HBPD in June 2014 for not wearing a seat belt in the 2800 block of Gulf Drive and arrested for driving on a suspended license as a habitual offender. Police then saw marijuana cigarettes in her vehicle ashtray, and found xanax and hydrocodone pills in her wallet, according to the probable cause report.
Twelfth Circuit Judge Deno Economou ordered probation, which includes 50 hours of community service, drug evaluation, a 60-day treatment program, $100 for prosecution costs and $200 to HBPD for investigative costs. Napier also was assessed $413 in court costs.
