The Florida Department of Transportation encourages motorists to slow down and use caution when approaching work crews on or along roadsides, where exceeding the speed limit can double the fine.
The DOT has issued the following alert for Anna Maria Island:
State Road 789/Gulf Drive at 29th Street in Holmes Beach: Utility crews will be making repairs. Expect daytime southbound lane closures 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, April 20. Crews also will work overnight 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Wednesday, April 22.
