April 10, 100 S. Bay Blvd., Anna Maria City Pier, missing property. A visitor from New York told police an unknown person removed money and a credit card from her backpack, possibly while she was at the pier.

Bradenton Beach
April 7, 2600 block of Gulf Drive South, missing property. A complainant reported a wallet missing after leaving it in a friend’s vehicle March 30 while visiting Coquina Beach.
April 19, 119 Bridge St., The Hive, trespass. A Bradenton Beach police officer observed a homeless man sleeping under the building overhang. A trespass warning was issued. The officer advised the man he’d be arrested if he returned.
April 20, 100 block of 24th Street, stolen vehicle. The son of a woman’s live-in boyfriend drove away in her car. An alert was broadcast to area police and the vehicle was recovered by the Ocala Police Department in Marion County.

Cortez
April 10, 3800 block of 117th Street West, sexual battery and break-in. A woman reported she was awakened while being sexually battered by an unknown male who had entered her residence through an open window. She escaped through her front door and waited an hour before returning. No arrest has been made.
April 16, 10100 block of Cortez Road West, domestic battery. Deputies responded to an incident of a woman attacking a man outdoors and observed an injury above the man’s eye. The woman was arrested, treated at Manatee Memorial Hospital, and transported to Manatee County jail.

Holmes Beach
April 11, 100 block of White Avenue, theft. Holmes Beach Police Department confronted five suspects at the beach access, including three juveniles, about taking a backpack off the trunk of a car. Stolen items found on the suspects were returned to the victim, who signed waivers of prosecution.
April 11, 300 block of 73rd Street, criminal mischief. A window was reported broken.
April 11, 600 block of Dundee Lane, theft. A car mirror and housing for the mirror were reported missing.
April 17, 500 block of Manatee Avenue, license. Police stopped a truck with an expired Georgia tag. The motorist gave the officer his Georgia driver’s license, but was unable to find his vehicle registration or insurance card. He told police he knew he needed a Florida license because he’d been living in Florida almost a year and works in construction. The officer gave him a non-resident tag exemption and issued a citation for failing to provide insurance.
