Aug. 14, 500 block of Spring Avenue, noise. A Manatee County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched at 10:09 p.m. to a report by neighbors of music playing and people in a pool. The deputy advised the visitors of city rules and issued a warning.
Aug. 14, 500 block of South Drive, noise. Four people were sitting on a residential pool deck, drinking vodka and listening to music. A deputy issued a verbal warning and the party went inside.

Bradenton Beach
Aug. 25, Cortez Beach, 600 block of Gulf Drive, vehicle burglary. A chain saw, dye grinder, bench grinder and trailer lock valued at $1,000 were stolen from a construction trailer. The site manager reported the theft occurred Aug. 24-25 with no forced entry. A Bradenton Beach police officer found a key to the trailer lock in a nearby parking lot.
Aug. 25, Bradenton Beach Police Department, 403 Highland, warrant. A 33-year-old man turned himself into police, saying he had a warrant out for his arrest for violating his probation, part of a March sentence for possession of marijuana.
Aug. 25, Coquina Beach South Boat Ramp, 2300 Gulf Drive S., stolen boat. A pontoon boat on Manatee County’s tow-list was reported stolen. The complainant valued the boat at $500. He told police it had broken down near the boat ramp in July and he’d been trying to fix, it but did not have the funds. The information was added to a national database.
Aug. 26, Coquina Beach Park, 1400 Gulf Drive S., trespass. Two homeless men were sleeping in the wooded area next to a park restroom. One of the men argued with a worker who started a lawnblower and woke them up in the morning. The man was issued a trespass after he told the officer that all “cops do is shoot people,” according to the BBPD report.
Aug. 27, 100 block of Seventh Street North, vehicle burglary. An unknown person entered a man’s unlocked vehicle, while he was working at the Anchor Inn tavern. The burglar took a come-along wench valued at $200 and left a pair of sunglasses. Police seized the sunglasses for evidence and made a lab request to process the eyewear for DNA.
Aug. 28, Seventh Street Dock, 100 Seventh St. S., abandoned boat. An open-bow boat was found tied to the city dock. Police reported it was taking in water and leaking engine oil.
Sept. 2, 200 Bay Drive South, public urination. A 27-year-old Clermont man was arrested at 12:52 a.m. for urinating from the Bradenton Beach dinghy dock. BBPD charged him with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and breach of the peace. When the officer approached the suspect, the man yelled at the officer, claiming he didn’t have any right to approach him. The officer reported the man was drunk, refused his directions and had to be pepper sprayed into compliance. He was transported and booked at the Manatee County jail, posted $620 in bonds and was released pending an Oct. 6 court date.
Sept. 3, Coquina Park, 2650 Gulf Drive S., trespass. A 45-year-old woman and two men in their 50s were found sleeping at 1:30 a.m. on the concession deck. All were identified as homeless. They were issued verbal trespass warnings.

Cortez
Aug. 21, 4600 block of 124th Street, Baker Act. An MCSO deputy transported a 32-year-old Bradenton man to Blake Medical Center after a fisherman found him unconscious on a boat due to an apparent heroin overdose. Emergency medical services and firefighters responded.
Aug. 24, 12900 block of 43rd Terrace, domestic. An argument between a couple turned physical when the man, who allegedly came home drunk, pushed a woman to the ground. MCSO arrested the man and transported him to the Manatee County jail.
Cortez is policed by the MCSO.
Holmes Beach
Aug. 16, 100 block of 52nd Street, child custody. A woman came to the Holmes Beach police station to report her ex-boyfriend and father of their child had kept the child in violation of a parental agreement. HBPD submitted a request for a warrant for the man’s arrest.
Aug. 16, 200 block of 69th Street, burglary. Four flatscreen TVs, a Blu-ray disc player and a vacuum were reported stolen by a rental property manager. Police reported no sign of forced entry, but the manager reported she saw a curtain stuck in a door when she’d checked the property earlier.
Aug. 17, Blue Water Beach Club, 6306 Gulf Drive, burglary. A resort manager reported that a guest from Cincinnati called the front desk and reported $10,000 missing from his room. The guest also told police he had a wallet with $270 and a money clip with cash sitting out that were untouched. The manager told police there had been no maid service. The guest then told police he didn’t want to report the theft.
Aug. 20, 4000 Sixth Avenue, abuse. A 17-year-old reported a family member struck a juvenile with a broomstick several times. The family member was taken into custody.
Aug. 22, 4000 Sixth Avenue, court order. HBPD responded to a report about a woman violating a no-contact order. Paperwork for a warrant arrest was completed.
Aug. 22, 200 block of 54th Street. Police responded to a report of two females fighting in the street. A woman was allegedly intoxicated and arguing with people in the rental house when the dispute turned physical. The victim sustained injuries to her arm and hand. The aggressor was arrested and transported to Manatee County jail.
Aug. 23, 4000 Gulf Drive, theft. A cellphone was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the Manatee Public Beach.
