Anna Maria quiet, police on patrol

The city of Anna Maria has been quiet since police reports of a late-night intruder Nov. 18-21.

During Nov. 18-21, MCSO received reports about a trespasser inside homes on North Shore Drive and Fern and Rose streets.

In each case, occupants woke in the night to see someone in their home. Each time the trespasser fled. There were no injuries or thefts.

On Nov. 20, a burglary to an unoccupied residence in the 200 block of Willow Avenue was reported.

The MCSO is investigating, but wouldn’t confirm if the incidents were related.

Manatee County Sheriff’s Sgt. Paul Davis said deputies continue to “beef up their patrols” but haven’t found anything suspicious.

“We haven’t had any break-ins or robberies since those incidents,” Davis said. “We aren’t taking it lightly though and would rather err on the side of caution.”

Davis said deputies are heavily patrolling the streets around the break-ins.
