After lane drifting in Holmes Beach and swerving and almost hitting the curbs on the Anna Maria Island Bridge, police arrested a Bradenton man for driving impaired.
Daulton M. Jordan, 22, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. Dec. 13 in the 12000 block of Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton.
Holmes Beach Police Officer Alan Bores first observed a black Pontiac with a South Carolina tag drifting out of its eastbound lane in the 700 block of Manatee Avenue West, according to a police report.
The officer followed the vehicle across the bridge, where he made the stop. Jordan handed the officer his South Carolina driver’s license and allegedly told Bores he’d been at D.Coy Ducks Bar & Grille. Jordan also told Bores he’d consumed two beers and a shot, according to the report.
Bores noticed an empty hard cider bottle behind the driver’s seat, according to the police report.
Jordan performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to Manatee County jail. At the jail, he provided three breath samples measuring 0.160, 0.139 and 0.155. The legal limit is 0.08.
The officer issued Jordan citations for DUI, open container and nonresident driver’s license and tag violations.
Jordan’s arraignment is set for Jan. 13 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
