Florida adventure show coming to AMI

The Fox Sports SUN TV show “how to Do florida with Chad Crawford” will be recording video segments Feb. 1-2 on Anna Maria Island.

The Anna Maria City Commission voted 4-1 Jan. 14 to approve the Bradenton Area Film Commission’s permit application to shoot video in the city. The film commission is an arm of the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

Commissioner Carol Carter was the dissenting vote.

The SUN crew will shoot a sunset scene Feb. 1 at Bean Point and, on Feb. 2, shoot a breakfast scene at the Historic Bridge Street Pier in Bradenton Beach.

The two days on the island are the last stop in the film crew’s tour of Manatee County. The crew also plans to shoot scenes on Longboat Key, as well as at the South Florida Museum, Mixon Fruit Farms and Tree Umph! in Bradenton.

According to the show’s website, howtodoflorida.com, it’s a 30-minute program that highlights different areas of Florida, helping to increase a sense of excitement and adventure in the Sunshine State.

The show is in its sixth season.

Having seen many episodes of this wonderful, family-friendly show I have to laugh at Carol Carter as the dissenting vote. Who would vote against that?
