Feb. 19, 700 block of North Shore Drive, burglary. An owner reported a burglary and theft of a wall decoration.

Bradenton Beach
Feb. 23, 100 block of Third Street South, battery. Four people were upstairs in a house when the Bradenton Beach Police Department responded to a report of one man punching and kicking another man down a set of stairs. Police observed no visible injuries, took sworn statements from witnesses and filed a request for the state attorney to consider charges.
Feb. 23, 200 block of Bay Drive North, disturbance. An officer responded to a domestic dispute. The parties told the officer they’d argued about $20. No signs of violence were observed or reported.

Cortez
Feb. 23, 4600 block of 119th Street Court West, battery. Two men from Missouri were looking for work at fish companies in Cortez. Not finding work, they went to a bar and drank beer. The victim reported his friend pushed him to the floor and left. The alleged aggressor told police a different story. No other witnesses were located.
Cortez is policed by the MCSO.
Holmes Beach
Feb. 18, Jessie’s Island Store, 5424 Marina Drive, retail theft. A store employee caught a 15-year-old stealing a $6.92 pack of cigars and called police. Holmes Beach police arrested the juvenile and issued him a summons to appear in court and trespass warning. As his mother took custody of him, she left his skateboard and asked police to donate it, saying her son “doesn’t deserve it.”
Holmes Beach is policed by the HBPD.
