The William R. Mote Memorial Snook Shindig, a research-based catch, sample and release tournament organized by Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, honored local Capt. Scotty Moore. The tournament on Sarasota Bay was April 8-9 and followed by an awards dinner. Dr. Michael P. Crosby, Mote president and CEO, honored Moore and presented him with a framed and signed print by artist Steve Whitlock. “I feel overwhelmed with gratitude to be honored at this year’s Snook Shindig,” Moore stated, according to a news release. “The work that these scientists do is so important.
