Emily Theaman Gross
Emily Theaman Gross, 67, of Holmes Beach, died Feb. 29 after a six-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York.
She loved the color purple, walking the beach for Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Shorebird Monitoring, weekly massages and dark chocolate with a glass of red wine.
She was an award-winning quilter who always chose tea over coffee and she proudly said her favorite recipe was making reservations.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She spent mornings at swim meets, evenings at band competitions and weekends at NASCAR races.
She was an active member of Vienna and McLean Quilters Unlimited, Vienna Night Owls, Sarasota Friendship Knot Quilters, Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Shorebird Monitoring, Manatee Patchworkers Quilters and Sunshine Stitchers of Holmes Beach.
Her energy and positive outlook were infectious.
