Edward Joseph Dunn, 65, of Anna Maria Island, died May 24.

A memorial service was held May 28 at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home in Bradenton. Condolences may be made online at griffithcline.com.

He is survived by wife Dolores; sister Jo-Ann Drake; brother Michael; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Patricia ‘Patsy’ Finley Hutchinson

Patricia “Patsy” Finley Hutchinson, 95, died May 25, in Seattle. She was a longtime resident of Holmes Beach. She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Seattle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 1964. He was a Major League Baseball player.

Mrs. Hutchinson served as a sergeant in the Women’s Army Corps in World War II. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Key Royale Club, where she was once the ladies champion. She was a member of Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria.

Known to be generous with her time and knowledge, she was a loyal friend to all who knew her. She was instrumental in the 1950s in organizing and building the youth baseball stadium and the Anna Maria Island Youth Center — now The Center of Anna Maria Island. It was dedicated in 1961.

Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by sons Rick and wife Nina of Palm Beach, Jack of Milwaukee and Joe and wife Nancy of Holmes Beach; daughter Patty of Nevada City, Nevada; grandchildren, Ricky, John, Tom, Bonna, Jesse and Joey; and four great-grandchildren.
